Comprehensive Eye Examinations and Medical Diagnosis of Adult Eye Disorders

In our state-of-the-art office, our board certified eye doctors will give you a complete exam checking for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. If needed, a prescription will be given to you for glasses.

Small Incision No-Stitch Cataract Surgery With Lens Implants

A cataract is a loss of transparency, or clouding, of the normally clear lens of the eye. When the lens gets cloudy enough to obstruct vision, glasses or contact lenses may not help. We recommend cataract surgery when your vision interferes with your lifestyle. Cataract surgery is a very successful operation. One and a half million people have this procedure every year. We use the most modern techniques of phacoemulsification and small incision surgery coupled with laser membrane lyses. We remove the lens through a small incision and replace it with a state-of-the-art lens implant. Our surgical techniques enable our patients to resume most normal activities quickly. Our doctors use the latest in intraocular lens technology including the new multifocal (built in bifocal) ARRAY implant and the Starr Toric implant for patients with astigmatism.

Cosmetic and Reconstructive Eye-Plastic Surgery

Many patients come to our doctors for procedures to improve their appearance. Removing baggy or droopy eyelid skin "Blepharoplasty" can improve your vision as well as improve your looks and self image. Cosmetic blemishes or scars on the eyelids or face can be removed easily in our office surgical suite. Many patients are referred for reconstructive procedures following skin cancer removal or traumatic injuries. Tearing problems can also be helped.

Corneal Disease and Transplant Surgery

Our cornea specialist has had advanced training in the treatment of corneal diseases and in performing cornea transplants. Patients who's vision is compromised by clouding or scaring of the cornea can be helped through the very successful transplant of donor corneal tissue.

Glaucoma Diagnosis and Treatment

Glaucoma is a condition in which vision is lost due to damage to the optic nerve. Increased pressure in the eye or poor blood flow to the optic nerve causes this damage. Glaucoma can cause blind spots to develop and eventually, if untreated, can restrict your peripheral and eventually your central vision. Many patients are unaware that they have glaucoma, because in most cases, there are no symptoms. Our doctors utilize the Heildelberg Optic Nerve Analyzer system that allows them to identify glaucoma much earlier than ever before possible. Advanced medications and new lasers are used to treat glaucoma with outstanding success.

Botox Injections

Botox, contrary to most beliefs is not a new drug. Our doctors have been using Botox for functional and cosmetic problems for over ten years. We have a lot of experience in treating wrinkles and frown lines as well as facial tics and habit spasms. Ask about our complimentary Botox consultation. Come see if Botox could improve your appearance.

Emergency Eye Care

Our doctors often care for patients with sight threatening eye emergencies. Patients with these problems are referred by our local emergency rooms, community doctors, or can walk in to the office. You can rest assured that if you are ever the one with the acute problem you will be cared for immediately. Our doctor on emergency call can be reached at 954-977-8770.

Contact lens fitting

Our staff Optometrist is a specialist in fitting contact lenses. If you have ever wanted to try contacts please ask our staff to assist you with a contact lens fitting evaluation. If you are a long standing contact lens wearer and would like to get your lenses updated please call our office and ask for an appointment with our optometrist.

Eyeglass prescriptions

If prescription glasses are necessary for you to see and you are not a good candidate for refractive surgery, our doctors will prescribe them for you. The next time you need new glasses let our doctors help you achieve the best vision possible.

Permanent Eye Make-Up

Have you ever wished you didn't have to spend half an hour putting on your make-up? Does your eyeliner run because of occasional tearing or an accidental rub? Permanent Make-up is available at Ophthalmology Consultants The Center for LASIK The Center For LASIK. You can have permanent brows, upper and lower eyeliner, and even lip outlines. Ask about how permanent Make-up can help you look your best all the time without all the effort and expense.

About Presbyopia

A normal part of the aging process, presbyopia is a gradual loss of the eye's ability to adjust the focus. Presbyopia is due to the natural stiffening of the lens in the eye on near objects. This prevents the lens from changing focus so that one can clearly see both distance and near objects. Presbyopia usually begins to occur around the age of forty and it is commonly corrected by the use of reading glasses or bifocals. Patients with myopia or hyperopia should realize that even correcting myopia or hyperopia with Laser Vision Correction will not eliminate the potential need for reading glasses when reaching middle age. For those patients who absolutely do not wish to wear reading glasses as they get older, Lens Replacement Surgery, such as Crystalens Vision Correction, may be an option to discuss with the doctor at your Consultation.
